8/29/26 Made for Jon's 40t birtday party. Didn't taste like guinness, but was a very moist and tasty chocolate cake. frosting was good, but technically challenging due to cold butter (needed to clean out whisk repeatedly). Piped ok but would have been better if chilled finished frosting first. Doubled recipe and made 3 layer cake (regular 9 inch rounds too shallow to accomodate). Done in 30 mins (one in breakaway took ~35 as was a bit more batter)
7/4/26 Did 8 peaches in 9x13. Didn't peel; it tasted fine but did affect texture slightly. Did 1.5x the topping compared to the original and it still didn't have adequate coverage; should double next time.
Made for Jon's Bday 8/26/25 and Father's Day 6/21/26. Too much butter in crust; first time it melted out into the oven, second time I tried a water bath, which kept the butter in and it was too much. 1.5x'd per suggestion of allrecipes users. This is about half of a family pack of oreos (just the cookies, not the cream). Also did 1.5x the cream topping the second time around which was the appropriate amount
3/7/26 for Amanda's bday party. Doubled recipe and had issues with food processor being too small. Also accidentally used self-rising flour, so texture was off. Cake overbaked at 55 mins; next time would check first at 40. Toasting and grinding almonds a PIA; would be much easier to sub same weight of almond flour. A mediocre bake by me, but the recipe has potential if executed better
