4/30/24 4.5 stars. Added an entire large onion and green bell pepper, which meant that there wasn’t enough sauce, so I added some ketchup because it had tasted too dry. I did like having the larger proportion of onion + bell pepper though. Did use full sodium tomato sauce and still had to add the amount of salt called for (started with less than the recommended ½ tsp, but to taste wound up adding at least that much, maybe more).
4.5 stars. A yummy soup! I followed the recipe exactly, except we didn’t have italian seasoning on hand so I just threw in all the components and wound up overdoing it. I did use rotisserie chicken, and it was excellent. The store didn’t have refrigerated tortellini so I boiled dry tortellini separately and added it to each portion as it was served. Even with that precaution, I think more broth would have been nice. I just used a large box of broth, which is usually around the 4c called for by the recipe.
Only used 1.3 lbs of beef, adjusted other ingredients except adding whole egg. Texture was off (burger was also overcooked by Jon), and the patties were too small (made 6)
3 stars. Jon overcooked the shrimp. I only marinated for 30 minutes per allrecipes reviewer recs and the shrimp wasn't as flavorful as it could be. Basil taste didn't really come through; may try dried basil next time
