Found this on a Cooking Thru History Youtube spot. The Allspice was REALLY GOOD! I never thought of Allspice being a meat spice, but I do now. Sorry there is no pic, but I'm not one to take pics of food... This is a solid 5/5. Give it a try!
Made full recipe, but would add MORE eggplant. White eggplants are small and even with 5, there was barely a taste once they were sauteed. Also added LOTS more Garlic.
The original recipe has coconut milk instead of heavy cream and no broth or cornstarch. It also had Lemon zest. The sauce was thin and runny and it was way to sweet and lemony for my taste. It tasted more like a hot dessert than a dinner. If I want 'meat candy', I'll smoke some burnt ends! Anyhow, I'll make it again with my revisions. It went well over pasta. I'll try it over couscous or mashed potatoes next.
